The 2026 Meat Consumption Week and the 24th China International Meat Industry Exhibition officially kicked off on September 12 at the Qingdao International Convention Center (Hongdao Venue), running through September 14. Guided by the China Meat Association, the event is co-organized by the International Meat Secretariat and Beijing Luyilongde Technology Development Co., Ltd. Aligned with the national strategy for building a strong agricultural sector, the exhibition closely follows the development directions of technological, green, quality, and brand-oriented agriculture. With the core objectives of "strengthening the industry, building brands, boosting exports, and stimulating consumption," it is committed to creating a professional platform that links global meat resources, deepens synergy and economic cooperation across the industrial chain, comprehensively supports the construction of a modern meat industry system, and promotes high-quality development of the sector.

Focusing on five key dimensions—internationalization, exhibition standards, exhibit portfolio, side events, and consumption-boosting initiatives—the event precisely targets industry hotspots and future trends, reaching a new record in scale. The exhibition fully utilizes all nine core halls of the Qingdao International Convention Center (Hongdao Venue), covering a total exhibition area of nearly 100,000 square meters. It has attracted over 2,000 domestic and international enterprises, with the exhibition scope comprehensively covering the latest products, technologies, processes, and integrated solutions across the meat industry chain.

In terms of venue layout, the three thematic exhibition zones each feature distinct characteristics, precisely meeting industry demands. Halls A1 to A4 are positioned as a showcase for intelligent solutions, focusing on cutting-edge industry products such as smart slaughtering and processing equipment, food packaging machinery and new materials, meat quality inspection systems, fully visualized and traceable smart cold storage and refrigerated transport solutions, and green, eco-friendly, and harmless treatment equipment. Meanwhile, this zone highlights the in-depth application of digital technologies—including AI, IoT, big data traceability, and digital management—in the meat industry, vividly demonstrating the sector's latest achievements in transitioning from traditional manual operations to automated and digital transformation.

Halls B3 to B5 create a new hub for a full-category matrix and quality consumption, showcasing fresh pork, beef, mutton, and poultry, along with their deep-processed meat products and a comprehensive matrix of meat processing ingredients. Leading domestic enterprises such as Qinglian, Shuanghui, Jinluo, Yurun, Delisi, Dazhuangyuan, Guangming, Muyuan, Weikang, New Hope, and Dezhou Roast Chicken, along with numerous renowned international companies, have made a grand appearance with their latest products, jointly presenting the industry's upgrade path from "making products" to "building brands." Halls B1 and B2 serve as a branding window for geographical indication agricultural products, concurrently hosting the "2026 National Marketing and Production Matchmaking Event for Famous, Special, Quality, and New Agricultural Products." Gathering over 6,000 such products from more than 30 provinces, municipalities, and regions nationwide, it builds an integrated platform for exhibition, matchmaking, and promotion that connects the entire country and links to the global market.

To further boost consumer confidence and activate the terminal market, the exhibition explicitly sets "stimulating consumption" as one of its core objectives, concurrently launching the series of thematic activities for the "2026 Meat Consumption Week." The Consumption Week features carefully curated segments including thematic seminars, achievement exhibitions, product tastings, popular science on meat health, expert Q&A sessions, and new product launches, striving to build a robust communication bridge from the industry end to the consumer end. These activities not only showcase the achievements in quality upgrading and green development of China's meat industry and promote food safety and healthy consumption concepts, but also focus on cultivating new meat consumption scenarios. Through tastings, education, and consultations, they guide consumers to gain an in-depth understanding of the technological and innovative achievements in the industry, effectively enhancing meat consumption confidence. By leveraging the exhibition to drive comprehensive consumption in commerce, catering, and retail, the initiative tangibly translates industrial advantages into market vitality.

As a key intellectual support for the exhibition, the 2026 Meat Industry Development Conference, held as a follow-up to the World Pork Conference, took place on the afternoon of September 12 in the banquet hall of the Guanhai Lou Hotel at the Qingdao International Convention Center (Hongdao Venue). The conference systematically summarized the development experience of the meat industry during the 14th Five-Year Plan period and scientifically mapped out development strategies for the 15th Five-Year Plan period. In addition, from September 12 to 14, multiple professional side events were launched simultaneously. These include the CIMIE Product Selection Fair, the Feixiong Lingxian Culinary Showcase, the Meat Processing Technology Salon, the "Great Nation Brands" Special Salon on Brand Development and Digital Economy, the Shandong Provincial Hotel Industry Food Ingredient Supply Chain Innovation Conference, the Wagyu Beef Special Promotion, the Dr. Shan "Premium Selection" Event, the Alberta Canada Agricultural Investment Policy Exchange, the Lv Feng Environmental Protection Smart Factory Construction Seminar for Quality Improvement, the Hebei Province Specialty Agricultural Products Export Production and Marketing Matchmaking Promotion, and the Jarvis Intelligent Equipment New Product Launch. These events provided an efficient matchmaking platform for the industry to assess trends and expand cooperation.

In an interview, Zhao Anli, former Deputy Secretary-General and current Senior Advisor of the China Meat Association, and Chairwoman of Beijing Luyilongde Technology Development Co., Ltd., noted that while this is the ninth time the exhibition has come to Qingdao, it is the first time it is being held at the Hongdao Venue. She pointed out that Qingdao is not only a major city for meat production and sales but also a powerhouse in processing equipment. This exhibition covers more than 3,000 famous, high-quality, and new products from 31 provinces and municipalities, and is expected to attract over 100,000 visitors. Zhao emphasized that this exhibition is the first to empower participating enterprises through digital and intelligent technologies, helping them leap from "quality" to "premium quality" and step into a new stage of development. This three-day industry gala not only provides a panoramic display of the strong resilience and innovative vitality of China's meat industry but will also inject powerful momentum into the synergistic development of the global meat industry chain and a win-win future.
