On October 9, the 12th Beijing International Elderly Industry Expo grandly opened at Phase II of the China National Convention Center. Themed "Synergy and Collaboration, A New Chapter for the Silver Economy," this year's expo adopts an innovative, multi-dimensional four-in-one exhibition model integrating exhibitions, conferences, competitions, and festivals. Covering a nearly 30,000-square-meter exhibition area and bringing together over 400 exhibitors, the event creates a high-level platform for exchange and cooperation in the silver economy in northern China and a vital window for public welfare services. The expo will run until October 11.
The opening ceremony was jointly held for the 2026 Beijing Elderly Care Service Industry Development Sijiqing Forum and the 12th Beijing International Elderly Industry Expo, hosted by Ding Zhangchun, Deputy Secretary-General of the Beijing Municipal Government and Deputy Director of the Beijing Municipal Commission on the Aging. Aligning closely with the national trade-in policy for consumer goods, the expo set up a dedicated National Subsidy Zone to implement people-benefiting trade-in measures for age-friendly products, ensuring policy dividends reach both businesses and citizens directly. The Silver Age Wellness Fair offered exclusive expo discounts, spend-and-save promotions, and lucky draws. Concurrently, the 2026 Beijing Elderly Care Service Industry Development Sijiqing Forum and the 3rd Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Health and Elderly Care Conference were launched, forming a forum matrix of "one main forum plus multiple sub-forums." Outstanding works from the Beijing Smart Elderly Care Robot Application Competition and the 3rd Age-Friendly Design Competition were exhibited on-site. A series of cultural events unfolded in succession, including the Award Ceremony for the 12th Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Silver Age Stars Selection, the release of innovative elderly care cases and the Annual Report on Elderly Care Survey, and the launch of the call for entries for the 4th "Mo Yuan Cup" Beijing Senior Calligraphy Exhibition, integrating industry matchmaking, competition showcases, and a敬老文化 carnival. In terms of visitor services, the organizing committee comprehensively upgraded age-friendly supporting facilities, opening green channels and providing wheelchairs and magnifying glasses. Medical stations, multiple rest and drinking water points, and dedicated express delivery stations in the exhibition halls were set up, with volunteers on hand to offer guidance and assistance. Online reservation channels were launched via official accounts and mini-programs, while offline manual and paper-based registration counters were retained to bridge the "digital divide" for elderly visitors. Leveraging the newly launched official website and Beichen's self-developed intelligent conference system, alongside free live-streaming e-commerce services for exhibitors, the expo built an integrated online and offline exhibition and sales model, opening new channels for supply and demand matchmaking, helping enterprises expand market sales, and stimulating new vitality in silver consumption.
As a vital practical vehicle for the capital to actively respond to population aging, this year's expo focuses on the diversified and high-quality consumption demands of the elderly, striving to improve people's livelihoods and expand domestic demand in tandem. The expo has built a bridge for the exchange of elderly industry resources at home and abroad, creating business cooperation opportunities for exhibitors while delivering tangible elderly care consumption benefits to the public. Citizens can make real-name reservations via the WeChat official accounts of the "Beijing Silver Economy Industry Association" and the "Beijing International Elderly Industry Expo," or register on-site to join this grand silver economy event and explore new opportunities for the industry's development.
