Phase II of the 2026 Global Sources Hong Kong Shows Opens Today as Over 2,100 Asian Suppliers Converge

On October 18, 2026, Phase II of the October 2026 Global Sources Hong Kong Shows officially opened at AsiaWorld-Expo, running through October 21. The four-day trade show focuses on four core sectors: Mobile Electronics, Smart Home Security & Appliances, Lifestyle Electronics, and Sports & Outdoor. It brings together over 2,100 quality suppliers from across Asia, featuring more than 4,000 booths and showcasing approximately 160,000 new products. The exhibits cover a wide range of categories, including mobile devices, smart wearables, AR/VR, smart home solutions, energy storage and charging, personal health care, pet supplies, and sports and outdoor equipment.

John Kao, Vice President of Global Sources Hong Kong and Overseas Shows, stated, "Hong Kong boasts a regulatory framework aligned with international standards, efficient intellectual property protection, and close proximity to the manufacturing hub of the Greater Bay Area—enabling it to meet buyers' dual demands for compliance and efficiency. Buyers no longer need to travel to multiple locations: right here in Hong Kong, they can evaluate Asian manufacturing supply, complete compliance reviews, and place orders—all in a single visit. The trust built between buyers and suppliers on-site is often impossible to achieve through months of email exchanges. We aim to continuously reinforce Hong Kong's role as an international trade hub, providing a platform where truly capable suppliers and serious buyers can connect efficiently."

Asia's first dedicated B2B zone for used mobile phone trading made its debut. Hong Kong has long been a vital transit hub for the global second-hand smartphone trade. According to IDC data, global shipments of used smartphones reached 225.7 million units in 2024 and are projected to maintain a CAGR of 4.9% through 2029. As the market continues to expand, compliant distribution capabilities have become a critical barrier to entry. This year, the show partnered with the Hong Kong International Communication Electronics Chamber of Commerce (HKICEC) for the first time to launch the "HKICEC Global Mobile Communication Zone," Asia's inaugural B2B zone dedicated exclusively to used mobile devices. The zone gathers nearly 60 leading companies from mainland China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, the UAE, the US, and the UK, including Zhuanzhuan, Aihuishou, US Mobile Phones Inc., Belong Inc., and ecoATM LLC. Exhibits and services span brand-new mobile devices, professionally tested and data-wiped refurbished smart devices compliant with EU WEEE standards, smart testing technologies, recycling solutions, and compliant export services. The zone provides buyers from Europe, North America, and Southeast Asia with a trusted and comprehensive sourcing platform, creating a green trade corridor that connects mainland China's manufacturing prowess, Hong Kong's international platform, and global markets.

Tencent AI Makes Debut; AI Mass Production Enters Delivery Phase. In the second half of the year, the product selection logic for AI products has undergone a significant shift. The focus has moved entirely from "What new AI products are available?" to deployment capabilities and delivery efficiency. Buyers are no longer merely chasing functional gimmicks; instead, they place greater emphasis on whether products can effectively address practical needs and be shipped reliably and on time. Suppliers' overall order fulfillment capabilities have surpassed mere product highlights, becoming the primary criterion in purchasing decisions. The Phase II "AI+ Theme Zone" features over 1,200 booths, covering seven sub-sectors: AI endpoint devices, AI wearables, AI glasses, AI toys, AI pet products, AI personal health devices, and AI-integrated products, showcasing suppliers' mature capabilities from concept to mass production. This zone also extends into lifestyle electronics, including wearable electronics, smart pet products, personal care and beauty tech, sports, outdoor and fitness tech, gifts, and smart living, covering a broad range of practical application scenarios. Tencent, together with its ecosystem partners, participated under the theme "AI Empowering Business Growth," showcasing WorkBuddy, Tencent's AI office assistant, and enterprise-level AI solutions from its ecosystem partners. The concurrently held "AI Agent Summit" brought together over 100 industry, investment, and technology leaders to explore how AI agents can transition from demos to actual deployment and revenue generation. Additionally, in collaboration with the Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers' Association, the show launched the Taiwan AI Supply Chain Theme Pavilion, highlighting the region's mature industrial cluster advantages in AI modules, components, and contract manufacturing.

Vietnam Manufacturing and Mobile Accessories Take Center Stage; Diversified Sourcing Zone Debuts. Phase II features a special "Vietnam Sourcing Fair" zone, gathering around 50 Vietnamese manufacturers with mature export capabilities, covering three categories: fashion and apparel, home and kitchen, and gifts and packaging. For buyers looking to diversify sourcing risks, this zone allows them to engage with both China's primary supply chains and Vietnam's emerging production capacity at the same show, facilitating face-to-face negotiations directly with Vietnamese factories. As major brands launch their new generation of flagship smartphones, demand for compatible mobile accessories is surging. The show features over 2,000 mobile accessory booths showcasing new products such as phone cases, charging devices, stands, and data cables. The concurrently held Hong Kong Security Tech Show, supported by the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products, displays products and solutions spanning security surveillance, smart access control, and cybersecurity.

Best in Innovation Award Recognizes Outstanding Products; Global New Product Launches Converge in Hong Kong. The Phase II Best in Innovation Award focuses on products in the Mobile Electronics, Smart Home Security & Appliances, Lifestyle Electronics, and Sports & Outdoor categories, with judging criteria emphasizing practicality, cost-effectiveness, technological maturity, and market relevance. Phase II also introduces a dedicated "AI Innovation Award" to recognize outstanding exhibits in AI technology applications. The award plans to continue its partnership with the renowned European Product Design Award to present the "Best Product Design Award." The show also serves as the premier launch platform for many exhibitors' annual new products, featuring major global and Asian debuts, further solidifying Hong Kong's position as the preferred global stage for the launch of consumer electronics.
