24th China International Motorcycle Trade Exhibition Opens in Chongqing, First-Day Attendance Surpasses 50,000

On September 19, the 24th China International Motorcycle Trade Expo, or 2026 CIME for short, grandly opened at the Chongqing International Expo Center. As the only national-level professional motorcycle expo in China, this year's edition has set unprecedented records, with visitor attendance exceeding 50,000 on the opening day, fully demonstrating CIME's industry influence and strong drawing power. Themed "Leading Industry Development, Co-creating a Better Future," the expo focuses on the development directions of premiumization, electrification, and intelligentization, and will run until September 22.

The expo boasts a total exhibition area of 190,000 square meters, encompassing 8 indoor halls along with multiple B2B matchmaking, outdoor test ride, and interactive experience zones. Both the exhibition scale and the number of exhibitors have reached historic highs, gathering 1,120 companies from countries and regions including China, the United States, Italy, Germany, France, Japan, the UK, Spain, South Korea, and Pakistan. The event features over 100 global motorcycle and electric vehicle brands, with more than 3,000 vehicles on dynamic and static display. CIME serves not only as a window for showcasing products and technologies but also as a vital platform for promoting the industry's global expansion and cross-sector collaboration. On the first day alone, it welcomed over 2,500 international professional visitors from more than 80 countries. The concurrently held "Global Motorcycle Industry and Supply Chain Trade Cooperation Matchmaking Conference" attracted buyers from multiple key global markets, with procurement needs covering complete vehicles, components and parts, riding gear, and more. Meanwhile, the official livestreaming channel of "Proudly Made in China" went live, promoting new products and technologies made in China to the world, and helping Chinese enterprises advance from "product export" to "brand globalization" and "supply chain globalization."

Held concurrently with the expo, the 2026 China Motorcycle Chongqing Forum was themed "Breakthroughs and Innovation." It brought together representatives from government departments, industry associations, supply chain enterprises, and professional institutions for in-depth exchanges on globalization, market transformation, industrial upgrading, and technological innovation. Participants explored new cycles, trends, and opportunities in the motorcycle industry's development, charting the course for high-quality industry growth.

This year's expo showcases the outstanding manufacturing capabilities across the entire motorcycle industry and supply chain. On the opening day, 39 new product launch events were held. Zongshen Cyclone unveiled the all-new RT450, a twin-cylinder touring maxi-scooter, alongside cutting-edge technologies such as intelligent electronic control. Zhangxue Moto launched five models at once, introducing two brand-new models—the 600V cruiser and the 820X adventure bike—as well as three upgraded models: the 2027 500F, the 820RR-RC track edition, and the 820RR-RS carbon fiber edition. Additionally, Zhijie Moto presented the Lingmeng MX5 urban commuter scooter and the Jiyan V402 long-distance touring motorcycle. CFMOTO brought the V4 SR-RR to its Chinese new top-speed debut. Brands such as BNKMOTO, 79BIKE, Black Knight, and Arctic Leopard also showcased all-new or co-branded models. Concurrently, 14 new product test ride events were organized, offering full-scenario and multi-dimensional displays of new models that lead industry trends.

In terms of technological innovation, the expo showcased 67 advanced technologies covering key areas such as smart connectivity, AI interaction, smart suspension, steering, transmission, and powertrains. These included 41 cutting-edge technologies, 6 national patented technologies, and 20 technologies that fill domestic gaps. Ampace released a 76V120Ah large cell, a passenger car-grade 120Ah LFP prismatic cell, and launched two standard 21700 cylindrical cells for off-road electric motorcycles, the JP50 and EP65, paired with high-energy-density pouch cell customization solutions tailored for off-road electric motorcycle power scenarios. CALB debuted its new global "micro-energy battery," positioned as an "aviation-grade battery." Ganfeng Lithium Battery introduced the "Fengrui" light-duty power technology platform, focusing on building product capabilities around lightweight design, high energy density, smart BMS, safety, fast charging, and long range, comprehensively demonstrating the technological innovation strength of China's motorcycle industry.

CIME is not only a major professional expo but also a grand event driving motorcycle culture and urban cultural tourism. On the opening day, over 2,000 motorcycle clubs from across the country rode to Chongqing, gathering to plant flags, network, and take photos at the venue. Highly anticipated classic events such as the C-Corner Launch, Gymkhana Scenario Experience, and Slow-Riding Competition kicked off as scheduled. The newly upgraded "CIMA Moto Party" provides enthusiasts with a dedicated platform to showcase riding skills and share creative ideas. The 2026 CIMA Motorcycle Customization Contest featured a concentrated display of 65 rare custom motorcycles and classic vintage bikes from around the world. The CIMA Motorcycle Town integrates diverse formats including specialty cuisine, trendy motorcycle merchandise, and cultural creative peripherals, creating a new landmark for motorcycle culture. "CIMA Biker Night" combines live band performances, sharing sessions with industry experts and influencers, and motorcycle prize draws, building a core social platform for motorcycle enthusiasts nationwide. Furthermore, the 11th "Tengsun Cup" Gecko Riders International Stunt Competition kicked off on the second day of the expo, bringing together top riders from home and abroad for high-level stunt performances, with the ultimate showdown scheduled for September 21.

To welcome motorcycle enthusiasts from around the world, the 10-screen array at Jiangbeizui and the landmark screen at the Chongqing Grand Theatre were brilliantly lit up from September 19 to 21 with the message "Welcome Riders Home," joining global enthusiasts in this grand event. To ensure a quality visitor experience, the organizing committee advises attendees to travel during off-peak hours. Multiple rest zones and free water stations have been added within the venue, along with clear visitor guides, striving to provide more convenient and thoughtful services.
