Global Treasures Jewelry Artists Exhibition Opens at Shanghai Bund, Tying in with CIIE

On August 12, JSD SPACE, the core industrial space of the Shanghai International Jewelry and Fashion Functional Zone, located on the 26th floor of Building S2 in the South Zone of the BFC Bund Finance Center in Shanghai, officially opened to the public. Running concurrently is the "100 Days of Global Treasures" International Jewelry Artists Joint Exhibition, a 100-day event that kicked off with the highly anticipated "Radiance of Chinese Heritage" Special Exhibition: "Exquisite Marvels." This initiative fosters a dialogue between Eastern craftsmanship and global design, adding a new international platform for exhibition and exchange as Shanghai builds itself into a highland for international jewelry and fashion. It also marks a significant step forward in the development of the Dayuyuan hundred-billion-yuan jewelry and fashion industry cluster.

As a landmark physical achievement in the development of the Shanghai International Jewelry and Fashion Functional Zone, JSD SPACE precisely fills the gap in international physical exhibition services for global designers, industry institutions, and public collectors in the region. Leveraging the landmark location advantage of the Bund Finance Center, the space is positioned as the core front-end carrier in the Functional Zone's tri-end linkage system, comprising a front-end international window, a mid-end industry cluster, and a back-end empowerment platform. In terms of functional layout, JSD SPACE integrates seven core functions, striving to build a one-stop jewelry industry service complex. These seven functions cover a full range of scenarios, including government services, bonded exhibitions, business negotiations, creative design, event launches, trading and circulation, and high-end customization. Additionally, the space has simultaneously introduced professional supporting services such as intellectual property protection, international jewelry testing and certification, and bonded exhibition and trading, effectively connecting the entire chain from original design and craftsmanship R&D to market transactions. This move will greatly assist independent designers and jewelry brands from home and abroad in rapidly commercializing their creative achievements, making JSD SPACE a key hub linking global jewelry creative resources with Shanghai's local industry market.

Along with the unveiling of JSD SPACE, the "100 Days of Global Treasures" International Jewelry Artists Joint Exhibition officially opened. Closely aligned with the Functional Zone's development positioning of cultivating a high-end design and customization center and building an industry integration and innovation center, the exhibition takes "Beneath the Vast Sky, Exquisite Gems Bear Witness" as its curatorial core. Rooted in Eastern aesthetics, it gathers diverse jewelry art creation forces from around the world. Running from August 12 to November 10, 2026, the exhibition is presented in five thematic sessions in sequence, covering multiple tracks such as fine craftsmanship in precious metals, innovative material integration, intangible cultural heritage gold carving, and international avant-garde design.

Specifically, the "Exquisite Marvels" Exhibition from August 12 to 15 is jointly presented by core artists Austy Lee and Xiao Xintong. It combines 18K gold with rare colored gemstones, using rich colors and narrative design language to interpret the romantic expression of contemporary Chinese jewelry creation. The "Dazzling Splendor" Exhibition from August 19 to 23 is co-curated by Karen Suen and HAOYANG ART. It breaks through the boundaries of traditional materials, exploring the innovative integration of high-temperature oxidation coloring techniques for titanium and natural pearls. In the "Golden Artistry" Exhibition from September 1 to 20, national-level gold carving master Wu Qing will showcase 9999 pure gold masterpieces, demonstrating on-site the intangible cultural heritage craftsmanship of high-temperature fusion at 1200°C, presenting the ultimate artistry of traditional Chinese gold carving. The European and American Designers Joint Exhibition from October 10 to 15 will gather works from overseas avant-garde jewelry creators, broadening the international perspective. In addition, an exclusive CIIF exhibition area will be set up in early November to link with the 8th China International Import Expo and capture the spillover consumption effects. At the opening exhibition, core artists Austy Lee and Xiao Xintong shared their creative narratives and perspectives on jewelry cultural expression. They accompanied guests on a tour of the exhibition hall, engaging in in-depth exchanges on the integration of Chinese and Western materials and the modernization and innovation of traditional craftsmanship, vividly demonstrating the artistic core and industrial value of the 100-day joint exhibition.

During the 100-day exhibition period, JSD SPACE will continue to host a series of supporting signature activities, including exclusive private seminars on high-end jewelry appreciation, Sino-foreign designer salons, and immersive pop-up markets for fashion influencers. These activities aim to break down the barriers between professional industry circles and the mass consumer market, showcasing the diverse charm of jewelry craftsmanship, design, and cultural integration from multiple levels and perspectives, and continuously invigorating jewelry fashion consumption. From an industry perspective, Shanghai is committed to building an international consumption center city and creating an internationally influential fashion capital. By linking with the CIIF to create a long-term jewelry art experience matrix, JSD SPACE has achieved mutual empowerment between industrial exhibitions and art exhibitions. This not only helps enhance Shanghai's voice and influence in the international jewelry and fashion field but also provides strong cultural support for the consumption upgrade of the regional economy.

Looking ahead, JSD SPACE will serve not only as a venue for boutique jewelry exhibitions but also as a long-term operational platform for the Functional Zone to connect with global jewelry creative, industrial, and consumer resources. The space will continuously introduce top global jewelry artists, international design institutions, and overseas high-end jewelry brands, and regularly host international joint exhibitions, cross-border design exchanges, and industry matchmaking events, continuously deepening the dialogue and mutual learning in jewelry creativity between China and the rest of the world. Relying on the location advantages of the Bund and its seven composite industrial functions, JSD SPACE will continue to help the Shanghai International Jewelry and Fashion Functional Zone improve its industrial ecological layout, consolidate the foundation for building a new international jewelry and fashion industry benchmark that "leads the nation, radiates across the Asia-Pacific, and connects with the world," and inject new momentum into Shanghai's high-quality urban development.
