As the summer heat wanes and the crisp light of autumn begins to dawn, the exhibition scene in Shanghai is buzzing with vitality. On August 18, the 2026 China International Home Textiles and Accessories (Autumn/Winter) Expo officially opened at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai). Guided by the China National Textile and Apparel Council, the expo is co-organized by the China Home Textile Association, the Textile Sub-Council of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, and Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd. Bringing together high-quality enterprises from 19 countries and regions, the event boasts over 100,000 square meters of exhibition space across four halls and twelve themed zones. Serving as a global trade hub that bridges domestic and international dual circulation, the expo showcases to the world the resilience and vibrant innovation of China's home textile industry amid transformation.
On the opening day, the venue was visited by a distinguished group of leaders and guests, including Sun Ruizhe, Secretary of the CPC Committee and President of the China National Textile and Apparel Council; Vice Presidents Xu Yingxin, Yang Zhaohua, and Liang Pengcheng; Zhu Xiaohong, President of the China Home Textile Association; Wang Yi, Vice President and Secretary-General; Vice Presidents Liu Zhaoxiang, Wu Yongqian, and Ge Jiangxia; Lin Yinghua, Vice President of the Textile Sub-Council of the CCPIT; and Wendy Wen, Managing Director of Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd. Guided by introductions from various corporate executives, the guests gained in-depth insights into the current development and future strategies of the exhibiting companies in areas such as product innovation, original design, green upgrading, AI empowerment, category transformation, and export trade. The guests highly commended the pragmatic approach of these enterprises in staying focused on their niche and dedicating themselves to professional excellence. Considering the comprehensive performance of the exhibiting companies in supply chain building, channel integration, and new product development, the guests noted that the home textile industry is currently at a critical turning point, transitioning from scale expansion to value growth. As a vital platform linking domestic and international resources, the expo should continue to inject new momentum into the industry with new materials, new processes, and new technologies.
The current period marks a crucial phase of profound restructuring in the global home textile market and the inaugural year of the textile industry's transformation and upgrading under the 15th Five-Year Plan. Leveraging over 30 years of buyer resource accumulation, this edition of the expo has built an efficient bridge connecting domestic and international markets. In terms of overseas procurement, purchasing teams from international leading brands such as Ashley, H&M, IKEA, Inditex, and Walmart have flocked to the event; professional buying delegations from Sweden, Morocco, Malaysia, Russia, and other countries are also fully present. On the domestic front, leading brands including Kuka Home, Luolai Lifestyle, Yuyue Home Textiles, and Sleemon have dispatched purchasing teams to the site; professional buyers like Rufish得水 Curtains and Molik are also on-site for in-depth product selection. Notably, the expo has also attracted a remarkable lineup of cross-sector buyers, with representatives from Huawei, NIO, Unilever, Atour Group, and Poly Group gathering together, fully reflecting the accelerating trend of home textile products extending into diverse application scenarios such as smart spaces, automotive interiors, and hotel and cultural tourism. In addition, e-commerce and digital service platforms such as JD.com and Aukey Cross-border are deeply involved, while hundreds of dealer delegations and professional market buyer groups specially invited by the organizer have arrived as scheduled, creating a vibrant atmosphere for business matchmaking in the on-site trade negotiation areas.

Hall 6.2, the Furniture Fabrics Hall, targets the needs of furniture manufacturing and soft furnishing engineering, showcasing export-oriented sofa fabrics, innovative fabrics, and eco-leather. The four halls work in synergy with complementary functions, precisely matching the full-chain needs of upstream and downstream enterprises.
Concurrent events revolve around four major themes: "New Design Forces," "Industrial Integration Power," "Green Circular Power," and "Technological Renewal Power." In the "New Design Forces" segment, multiple events bring together experts from renowned domestic and international design institutes and the architectural design field to jointly explore the boundaries of fiber art and the circular regeneration of home and architectural design. Curated by Shen Lei, a member of the Trend Committee, founder, and design director of an interior architecture design firm, the event takes the 2027 home furnishing trend keyword "Breathe Up" as its main thread, focusing on urban growth and organic renewal. In the "Technological Renewal Power" segment, two events—"AI is Here: Intelligent Implementation for Home Textile Enterprises" and "AI Empowering Sales Growth in the Home Textile Industry: Content Operations"—directly address the pain points of digital transformation, providing enterprises with an intelligent pathway from production to marketing. In addition, new product launch sessions showcase cutting-edge technologies such as low-carbon circular achievements, in-depth interpretations of the global flame-retardant standard map, and high-performance outdoor fabrics made from dope-dyed acrylic.
In terms of trends and art, the "2027 International Home Furnishing Trends" curated by NellyRodi is meticulously crafted by the trend committee led by international trend forecasting expert Nelly Rodi in Paris, comprehensively considering consumer needs, sociological insights, and emerging technologies. Cécile Rosenstrauch, a member of the Trend Committee, personally explained the core concept of the trend zone. Meanwhile, the "9th China International Fiber Art Exhibition 2026" brings together the latest annual works of over 40 fiber artists from across the country, covering various creative methods such as traditional weaving, modern felting, and digital AI art, achieving the contemporary translation of traditional techniques and the innovative iteration of modern art.
Under the intensive schedule, the expo is evolving from a mere product exhibition into a multi-dimensional platform for intellectual exchange, trend release, and technology roadshows. The curtain has officially risen, global buyers have arrived, and the latest fabrics, trendiest designs, most cutting-edge trends, and most authentic business opportunities are unfolding intensively. Over the next two days, the event will continue to deliver excitement, and we look forward to more industry professionals visiting the site in person to witness the trends and connect with the future.
