On August 19, the 2026 World Robot Conference officially kicked off in Beijing E-Town under the theme "Human-Machine Symbiosis, Seamless Integration of Supply and Demand." As a premier platform for cutting-edge technological exchange and the debut of major achievements in the global robotics sector, the five-day event features a main forum, an expo, and over 70 concurrent events, with strong support from 30 international organizations. The conference not only comprehensively showcases the latest technological breakthroughs in the robotics industry but also deeply promotes the seamless integration of the industrial chain and the demand side through a series of institutional innovations.

This year's conference has achieved a significant leap in scale, demonstrating its strong appeal within the industry. The expo brings together over 300 renowned domestic and international enterprises, marking a substantial 69% increase in the number of exhibitors compared to last year. It is expected to feature over 3,000 cutting-edge exhibits on-site, including more than 300 global debuts, presenting a concentrated showcase of the latest achievements in global robotics technology. The World Robot Expo has meticulously curated four exhibition halls—Smart Innovation Hall, Smart Integration Hall, Smart Manufacturing Hall, and Smart Fun Hall—providing comprehensive coverage of the entire robotics industry chain. The newly built Smart Innovation Hall, spanning 20,000 square meters, hosts leading enterprises such as Unitree, UBTECH, Galbot, Fourier Intelligence, and Xinghaitu. Centering on the theme of "Robots + Application Scenarios," these companies have showcased innovative application solutions across diverse fields such as manufacturing, catering and retail, healthcare and eldercare, and emergency rescue, vividly depicting the broad landscape of intelligent robots empowering all walks of life.

Compared with previous editions, this year's conference has achieved multiple milestone "firsts" in its exhibition model. For the first time, the event has introduced four themed days: Launch Day on August 19, Procurement Day on August 20, Developer Day on August 21, and Public Open Day on August 22 and 23. Notably, Procurement Day is featured as a standalone event, a first in the history of the World Robot Conference. This innovative initiative aims to break away from the expo's traditional role as a mere product showcase, building a precise and efficient matchmaking bridge between supply and demand to effectively address information asymmetry in industrial implementation. Meanwhile, the conference has launched the "Global Robotics Application Exploration Initiative" for the first time, recruiting products with mass-production capabilities—such as humanoid robots, quadruped robots, and dexterous hands—from global leading enterprises and providing them free of charge to outstanding global innovation teams for real-world trials. This move will effectively drive the transition of the expo's positioning from a traditional "display platform" to a substantive "transaction platform," accelerating the commercialization of cutting-edge technologies.

Another highly anticipated and significant change is the debut of the Central Enterprises Pavilion. A total of 49 central enterprises are presenting concentrated displays across 12 core application scenarios. At the conference, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council officially announced the establishment of the "Central Enterprises Robotics Innovation Consortium," dedicated to building an innovative ecosystem characterized by "joint technology R&D, shared application scenarios, and shared achievements." Holding the most complex and massive domestic robotics application scenarios in fields such as space and deep sea, power and nuclear energy, and mining and metallurgy, central enterprises are now stepping out from behind the scenes as observers to become the main force in driving the practical application of robots. This shift will provide an invaluable testing ground and vast market space for the iteration of domestic robotics technology.

At the level of technological evolution, this conference profoundly reflects the fundamental transformation currently underway in the robotics industry. This year, both the physical capabilities of the robots and the intelligence level of their "brains" have seen significant improvements. With the continuous iterative integration of foundation model capabilities and hardware physical capabilities, industry evaluation criteria are undergoing a fundamental shift—from a past focus on "who performs the flashiest moves" to a more pragmatic "who can achieve stable 24/7 operations." To align with this trend, the main forum has specially invited representatives from multiple industry end-users to share frontline experiences, focusing on real-world application scenarios, directly addressing pain points and implementation challenges, and clearly outlining the true direction of market demand for upstream R&D enterprises. In addition, the conference has created the "Robotics Consumer Street" for the first time, connecting hardcore technology with everyday life and offering visitors an immersive interactive experience combining "technology, food, and cultural creativity," thereby further expanding the boundaries of consumer-grade robotics applications.

Macro-industry data also highlights the vigorous development vitality and strong resilience of China's robotics industry. According to statistics, from January to May this year, the operating revenue of above-scale robotics enterprises in China has strongly surpassed the 90 billion yuan mark, a year-on-year increase of 26.9%, with an average growth rate of over 20% in the past five years. Behind these impressive figures lies a comprehensive manifestation of continuous breakthroughs in core technologies, the ongoing expansion of application scenarios, and the increasingly mature industrial chain ecosystem. From the grand supply-side showcase to the new ecosystem integrating supply and demand, the 2026 World Robot Conference is unlocking new industrial changes through multiple "firsts," successfully building an efficient bridge from technological innovation to practical application, and leading the global robotics industry into a new stage of high-quality development.
