On August 21, the 2026 Shandong Education Expo officially opened at the Shandong International Convention and Exhibition Center. As the largest, most comprehensive, and most influential provincial education expo in China, and the only officially hosted provincial education exhibition nationwide, this year's expo has set a new benchmark among similar provincial events in terms of its exhibitor lineup and scale. It also serves as a vital window for showcasing the high-quality development achievements of Shandong's education sector. Spanning three days, the expo aims to gather wisdom and strength for advancing the construction of a strong education province through comprehensive exhibitions and in-depth exchanges.

Covering an exhibition area of 60,000 square meters, the expo brings together over 600 participating organizations. Among them are 106 regular universities and vocational colleges, 33 secondary vocational schools, and the education bureaus of all 16 prefecture-level cities in the province, providing a comprehensive and multi-level showcase of the practical achievements in the reform and development of education at all levels and of all types in Shandong. The event utilizes five halls on the first floor of the Shandong International Convention and Exhibition Center, strategically organized into three core sections: the Exhibition of Achievements, the Educational Equipment Exhibition, and Concurrent Events, presenting visitors with a rich and diverse educational showcase.

As one of the core highlights of the expo, the Exhibition of Achievements is meticulously curated in Halls 1 and 2. Hall 1 features not only a grand foyer but also dedicated zones for the equitable and high-quality development of basic education and the construction of a modern vocational education system. These two zones vividly demonstrate Shandong's remarkable success in promoting educational equity, enhancing the quality of basic education, and building a modern vocational education system. Focusing on macro-strategies, Hall 2 features zones dedicated to the integrated development of education, science and technology, and talent, as well as education opening-up. It systematically presents Shandong's innovative initiatives and achievements in promoting the deep integration of science, education, and talent, and expanding the opening-up of education, highlighting a development pattern oriented toward modernization, the world, and the future.

The Educational Equipment Exhibition is distributed across Halls 3, 4, and 5, showcasing a wide range of new technologies and equipment in the current education sector. From intelligent teaching terminals and cutting-edge virtual simulation laboratory equipment to eco-friendly campus facilities and innovative STEAM educational teaching aids, numerous EdTech companies have made a strong presence with their latest R&D achievements. These cutting-edge tools not only provide robust hardware support for the modernization of education but also herald the infinite possibilities of future educational scenarios, attracting throngs of educators and institutional representatives to experience the exhibits and engage in exchanges.

During the expo, over a dozen high-level thematic seminars and exchange events were held in succession, creating a strong academic atmosphere on site. The topics were broad and closely aligned with the pulse of the times, including a forum by members of democratic parties focusing on educational development under the 15th Five-Year Plan, the roadshow for the release of outstanding achievements from Shandong's universities, and the working exchange of the Yellow River Basin Educational Technology and Equipment Collaborative Development Alliance. In addition, a series of events were held concurrently, including the National Seminar on the Organization of Competitions, the Symposium on Secondary Vocational Textbook Development, the Experience Sharing Conference on Canteen Management in Higher Education Institutions, the Exchange on Green and Low-Carbon Development in Higher Education, and the Seminar on Study Travel Programs for Primary and Secondary School Students in Shandong Province. These events have built a high-level exchange platform integrating policy discussion, achievement release, and experience sharing, providing valuable intellectual support for the future development of the education sector.

It is understood that this year's expo has successfully integrated the entire chain of basic, vocational, and higher education. It serves not only as a centralized showcase for the achievements of Shandong's education development but also as an "education expo at the doorstep" for the general public. Through this platform, citizens, teachers, and students have the opportunity to access high-quality educational resources across the province up close and gain a deeper understanding of the latest trends in educational reform. Looking ahead, Shandong will continue to leverage the Education Expo as an opportunity to deepen comprehensive educational reforms, optimize the allocation of educational resources, and strive to provide education that satisfies the people, thereby offering solid talent assurance and intellectual support for the high-quality economic and social development of the province.
