On August 13, the 2026 Synthetic Resin New Materials and New Equipment Exhibition, a premier event in China's synthetic resin industry, officially opened at the Wuxi Taihu International Expo Center. Hosted by the China Synthetic Resin Association and organized by Jihua Exhibition Services (Ningbo) Co., Ltd., the three-day expo runs through August 15 under the core theme of "High-End Breakthroughs, Green Transformation, and Industrial Synergy." As the annual focal point of the national synthetic resin sector, the exhibition spans a total area of 20,000 square meters across two halls. It brings together over a hundred leading industry enterprises to comprehensively showcase the remarkable achievements in innovative development across the entire domestic synthetic resin industry chain.

The opening ceremony was attended by several distinguished guests who delivered keynote speeches. He Shengbao, Chairman of the China Synthetic Resin Association; Xiao Bin, Deputy Director of the Wuxi Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology; and Tian Jiahe, Deputy General Manager of the Petrochemical New Materials and Chemical Sales Division of PetroChina, took the stage in turn. The speakers shared in-depth insights on industry development trends, local industrial support policies, and the exemplary role of leading enterprises. They pointed out that in the face of fierce global competition in the new materials sector, the entire industry must accelerate its transition toward high-end, green, and intelligent upgrades. This is not only an imperative to align with national macro-strategies but also a crucial pathway for enterprises to enhance their core competitiveness.

This year's expo features a dual upgrade in both scale and content, meticulously planning four themed exhibition zones: the Advanced Polymer Materials Research Achievements Zone, the New Materials Zone, the New Equipment Zone, and the Application Innovation Zone. These four zones comprehensively cover the key core segments of the upstream and downstream synthetic resin industry chain. The event innovatively introduces an integrated four-pronged operational model combining exhibition, forum, project promotion, and precise supply-demand matchmaking. It showcases high-performance resin raw materials, modified polymer materials, intelligent complete processing equipment, green recyclable new materials, and multi-scenario integrated innovative application solutions. This innovative model not only facilitates collaborative matchmaking among industry, academia, research, and application, breaking down barriers between research achievements and market demands, but also provides strong support for the rapid industrialization of cutting-edge research, effectively promoting the deep integration of the upstream and downstream industry chains.

During the opening ceremony, a special session was dedicated to industrial park promotions, building an efficient communication bridge for government-enterprise collaboration. Xinhe County in Hebei Province presented a special showcase on its characteristic modified nylon industry, detailing the region's industrial foundation, cluster advantages, and future development potential in the field of specialty new materials. Subsequently, the New Materials Industrial Park of the Wuxi Xishan Economic and Technological Development Zone held a dedicated investment promotion session. This aimed to provide comprehensive services for government-enterprise collaborative investment attraction, industrial project implementation, and precise matching of upstream and downstream supply and demand, further promoting coordinated regional economic development. Amidst the witness of all guests, industry leaders, association representatives, and executives from leading enterprises jointly activated the digital launch screen, officially kicking off the 2026 Synthetic Resin New Materials and New Equipment Exhibition. The scene was filled with continuous applause and a vibrant atmosphere.

Following the opening ceremony, attending leaders and guests collectively toured the exhibition halls. The halls were bustling with visitors as professional buyers and industry practitioners moved between booths, engaging in face-to-face business negotiations and technical discussions, creating a strong atmosphere of industrial cooperation and matchmaking. According to the organizers, over the three-day event, a series of supporting activities will be held consecutively, including high-end industry forums, cutting-edge technology release conferences, and precise matchmaking sessions for the entire industry chain, continuing to build an industry exchange platform for resource sharing and mutual benefit.

Notably, since its inception in Wuxi in 2023, the exhibition has been cultivated over three years and has now grown into a benchmark professional platform in China's synthetic resin sector, integrating technological exchange, achievement display, resource matchmaking, and industrial linkage. A relevant person in charge of the organizing committee expressed the hope that, taking this exhibition as an important link, the entire industry chain will join forces to address existing pain points and bottlenecks in industrial development, propelling China's synthetic resin industry into a new stage of high-end breakthroughs, green and low-carbon development, and collaborative progress. This grand event is not only a concentrated review of the industry's recent innovative achievements but also a new starting point for driving industrial transformation, upgrading, and long-term development. Stakeholders from all sectors will gather here to share resources, discuss development paths, and jointly write a new chapter in the high-quality development of China's synthetic resin industry.
